We all have that inner negative voice that absolutely loves to pop in from time to time, (some more than others) but what exactly is this voice and why do we all have this? What exactly is its purpose?
The devil inside us all, otherwise known as the ego, is a very very serious issue that most people overlook, and quite frankly do not understand. We think an ego is some dude who walks around puffing out his steroid induced chest, or some woman with breast implants that drives her Mercedes, laughing at the woman in the minivan. We think an ego is a person broadcasting their abilities with an extraordinary amount of confidence or a lack of caring for another individual. Most of us have zero clue about the evolution of the ego.
The ego is that negative nelly that absolutely loves to implement judgement, fear, anxiety, anger, and stress, not only towards others but especially towards ourselves.
The ego is what stops us from becoming that bright and shining star which is waiting to burst with passion, confidence and brilliance. It is no coincidence that the most used phrase in the Bible is “Do Not Fear.” It is used 365 times. One for each day of the year. The ego operates on fear.
Jesus says ” Deny thyself and take up your cross and follow me!” Mark 8:34, Matthew 16:24, Matthew 10:38, Luke 9:23, Luke 14:27.
When Jesus says “Deny thyself,” he’s not talking about killing your self-worth and your very own self-esteem. He’s talking about your own ego. He’s talking about judging others, gossiping about the latest crap on social media, and looking outside of yourself to fulfill your wants, desires and needs. Everything you need lies within yourself.
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Sadly, most people have no idea what this verse means.
Matthew 7:3 ” Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own?
Once again, Jesus speaking about the ego. I wonder why he would make so many statements regarding the ego……….. I don’t have enough room on this screen to input all the sayings from Jesus regarding the ego.
The very second we judge another human being in order to make ourself feel superior we are feeding that blood thirsty devil inside us, the ego. Throughout the entire bible Jesus is trying to tell us that.
Most Christians do not understand this and quite frankly any pastor you ask if Jesus is speaking of the ego they will lie and deny. This is in fact due to Hinduism religion being totally based on the ego and self-identifications. The whole backing of Christ’s teachings is for one to lose their own personal ego in order to achieve enlightenment. Sadly, most Christians have not been taught this either.
We think it’s a regular part of human mind and we can not change this negative aspect of the mind, but indeed we can. But, in order to manage this devil we must first understand that we all have one and it lives inside that skull of ours.
The devil is not some entity marveling in the depths of hell underneath the earth’s surface waiting for one’s soul depending on what religion an individual’s beliefs are. A belief is just a thought that has been exercised over and over and over again.
The only devil that exists is the one in your head. The ego. The word devil came from the word evil. Plain and simple. Hell doesn’t exist, except for the one here on planet earth that is tormenting the lives of billions of people. Look around.
Eckhart Tolle is considered to be the most popular spiritual author in the United States. His teachings, mentorships and publications have helped millions of people throughout the world wake up to who they truly are. Eternal, immortal spiritual beings. Tolle goes into explicit details about one’s personal ego in his best selling novels The Power of Now and A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose.
When Tolle uses the word awaken, he is talking that of a spiritual awakening.
Once a person realizes that the negative inner voice inside their head is actually part of the ego, that awareness alone is enough to begin the transformation process of the mind into higher states of consciousness. Into that of a Christ consciousness.
Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
The word transform comes from the Greekword metamorphoo, which symbolizes a caterpillar going through a state of metamorphosis as it sprouts into that beautiful butterfly.
One must learn to stop judging by what they see with their limited eyes, what has been drilled into the psyche throughout most of their lives, and begin to live a life from a different perspective. From the perspective of the heart. The ego has zero chance of survival when you lead with love.
